What causes these nail white spots?

I know this occurs in many people, but I want to know why most of us have white spots on our fingernails...Thanks :-)What causes these nail white spots?
I am a cosmetologist, i give many manicures and those spots are simply caused by hitting your nail on something, yes like a bruise. It is not a calcium or vitamin deficiantcy that would give you eggshell nails.

-and it doesnt have to be slamed in a door you could just hit it on something like the table or acidentally flicking some thing, your nail grows an avg. of 1/8in. per month the spot will eventually grow out, or fade if your lucky. What causes these nail white spots?
it is an indication of lack of vitamins in your body..try to eat the right food and take vitamins so you wouldn't have those white spots anymore.
It is lack of calcium in your body. The same thing happens in your teeth. Well, teeth also come in contact with strong acids, bases, cold, and warm when you eat and drink. But both the nails and teeth are simply bones. The only difference is that your nails don't have any pain receptors so that is why you can cut them everyday without yelling in pain.
I dont know if it's true or not , but I heard that those white spots indicates that your body need vitamins; or a specific type of vitamin.
i have heard people say it's lack of calcium. but i have like 50 of them and i have like 5 glasses of milk everyday. it may be from picking at them. thats what i seem to do a lot.
lack of calcium
Those white spots can be caused by alot of different factors. Things such as slamming hitting your finger on a wall or dropping something on it can cause them, lack of zinc or protein in your diet, and even fungal infections can cause them.
i think they're bruises on your nails like if you get your nail slammed in a door or something like that.
