I have a fungus infection. He offered me drugs to cure it but when I read about the drugs there is possible fatal side effects so I refused. I tried Curanail from the chemist but that doesn't work.....does anyone have any suggestions ?

I read an answer to someone else's question on this subject and wanted to know if you have tried it or if you recommend any other practical way (other than a french manicure or correction fluid which btw, please don't inhale correction fluid/white out or any other gas or solvent as can cause loss of brain tissue and bone marrow/fatty inner lining of bones).
The answer to the other question was to make a mixture of 3 TBSP baking soda and 1 TBSP hydrogen peroxide and make a paste. Then leave under nails for 5 minutes. Here's what you do...Make sure you use some kind of hand lotion (the tanning salons usually have it)
Coat the inside of your nails pretty good and then do the tops of your nail including the cuticles.
It doesn't have to be dripping but just make sure you have enough on your nails and fingers- all the way up to your wrists.
This will keep any tanning from occurring.
I know from experience!! When I first started a couple of years ago, no one told me to do this and my beautiful french manicure was ruined.!!!

The injury probably occured at least two weeks ago. the white spot doesn't appear until the damaged area grows out, which usually takes about 2 weeks, sometimes longer if you have slow-growing nails. Sounds like something was werong with the product itself. Find a new solon is my advice. And fills should be 2-4 wks. sepending on how much your natural nail grows.

Sounds like something was werong with the product itself. Find a new solon is my advice. And fills should be 2-4 wks. sepending on how much your natural nail grows.

i have never even heard of using bleach...but if you are looking for naturally white nails i think the food you eat effects it, like i know jello makes them stronger. Also if you are smoker that will cause your nails to be yellow, i used to smake and when i quit i had the whitest nails i've ever seen

Acylic has a tendency to yellow when it is old or when it comes in contact with certain detergents, oils, lotions and even chemicals. If you smoke, it will yellow, too. Pink %26amp; White refers to the colors used in a nail enhancement. When you get a set of Pink %26amp; Whites, it is normally done in acrylic. It can be done, and is commonly done with UV gel as well. But, most often when people refer to P%26amp;W's, they mean acrylic nails. So, there is no difference. It is still acrylic. Acrylic comes in many, many different colors. Pink %26amp; White full sets refer to the pink being at the base of the nail, and the white being the tip - or the extension of the nail. This can be done the easy way by using white plastic tips glued to your natural nails and then the tech will apply clear acrylic over that to provide strength to the nail extension. Or, they can literally 'sculpt' the white on - which I much prefer. Sculpting is an advanced technique where the tech applies forms over your fingertips, and uses the form to sculpt the entire extension. No plastic tips are used in this method. I feel it gives a much more realistic looking final result, and is more durable and more realistic looking than using tips. It takes more skill as well to sculpt nails, and to do a good job with it. You will usually see unskilled techs using white tips because they aren't skilled enough to sculpt, or just don't want to take the time to do the job right, IMO. To me, using tips is taking the easy way out, LOL!

White nail polish is cute, but it was in style in the spring and summer. Now that it is fall/winter the color is no good. Fuschia, red, dark blue, dark brownish red, these are all the colors that are in style. If you can't get a color you like, just get a french manicure, they are adorable and go with any outfit!!! The glitter is cute though, like painting your nails every other green and red with glitter, I like that!

Okay so i just moved into a brand new house.
New Everything.
And i was painting my nails this really ugly orange color
Because its one of are school colors and it spilled on my white tile like alot.
And it got in the crack and i dont know how to get it out.

I think I know what you are talking about, acrylic pink and white nails. In that case 100 percent acetone works the best. Be sure to let your nails soak. It helps to use two bowls, one larger and one smaller. In the smaller pour acetone. In the large have alittle warm water in it. Place the smaller one in the larger bowl and then soak your nails for about 30 mins. Place a towel on the top to keep the heat in and keep that smell out.
You may need to use a tool to scrape but try your best NOT to pick and peal them off. It can take a long time. If you go to a nail tech, make sure they dont peal your nails first.

How do u get you nail tips white?
to have your nail tips white, you should use a white nail polish and paint your nails where its more opaque. I would recommend you to buy sally hussen nail polish, the one made specially for french medicure, they last longer. You might one to buy those french medicure sticker guide to help you paint the white part more evenly. i would usually just use tape tho.
if you cant stand the smell of nail polish ( i love it ^_^) , you may also buy those white stick for eyes , and color the underneath of your nails as substitution.

i've used it before and it's wonderful... just swipe it under the free edge of your nail add a little clear polish and you have and instant psuedo french manicure. It also works great on your eyes if you line the inside of your bottom eyelids with white liner it makes them look really bright and open. Just make sure you don't use the same one as on your hands, that's a great way to get an infection!!!

i've used it before and it's wonderful... just swipe it under the free edge of your nail add a little clear polish and you have and instant psuedo french manicure. It also works great on your eyes if you line the inside of your bottom eyelids with white liner it makes them look really bright and open. Just make sure you don't use the same one as on your hands, that's a great way to get an infection!!!
Yes I have, it works, your nails need to be a bit long and very clean, then you can use a special buffer nail file and polish your nails with out nail polish, thats what a real french polish is!

I'm a cosmetologist and a nail-tech. You have to make sure you remove the polish well first. Then file your nails VERY lightly all over the surface enough to remove the thin yellow top surface. (warning: do not press hard when u file just light enough to remove the surface that was exposed to your recent nail polish. Over pressing and over-doing it can make your nails thin and easy to break.)
After this, take a buffer (you can buy a file/buffer that's called 3-in-one, it's one piece that has (#1 file and the other side of it is half smooth #2, other's is smoother#3.)
After filing using#1 the step above. Use #2 to smoothen the surface of each nails. Followed this by the #3 smoothest side ---buff faster and very lightly press on to your nails.When done, wash both hands. DO NOT SOAK in BLEACH as this will harm your skin esp. sensitive skin will be dry. Just get a cotton, wet w/ regular peroxide. Apply this on top of your nails only just like applying nail polish remover. Press the cotton till whole nail is wet and leave on for 30 sec. each nails to soak. This will maintain your nails to be white as always. Make sure everytime you put nail polish, use base coat then the colored polish, then top coat. If your nails always turn yellow or darker, it could be because you're taking medication or you should see a specialist as this could be a sign of something else. Removing permanate nail glue from white desk?
a couple of years ago a nail glue bottle kinda...exploded on my desk. There are big clumps of it that are about 3 mm tall. Is there anything I can do to get it off? A base coat should protect but be sure to check that the base coat and the nail varnish is suitable for use with acrylic nails. get yourself a very good base-coat and you should be ok, the nails may look a little less shiny and white, but that's the best way to do it
get a base coat love and u should be ok. so put a base coat/protector then your nailpolish and then a top coat. :-)

I have been painting my nails a lot recently and when i remove my nail polish with nail polish remover the tip of my nail is no longer white but are off white/yellowish colour. Its been happening for quite a while. Is there any way i can get it back to its usual white colour.

How do i make my nails white?
I used to bite my nails really bad ,i mean they were u-g-l-y an through the help of a nail salon i now have long nails again .naturally im excited cuz i now get to do smthin i really never got to do :wear nail polish!!But recently i noticed that my nailsc r really yellow ,so for pple not to notice i always have a french manicure.But i really want my nails to b healthy an white again,without paintin them.Ive also tried those tablets u put in water an they ';dissolve'; the yellownes...didnt work!!! So i wanna kno if im eating the wrong food or smthin an wat can i do to make them white???(an please dont tell me to stop usin nail polish )?How do i make my nails white?
The staining is coming from the polish itself.
Soak you nails in hydrogen peroxide and a little soapy water each manicure. I am sure there are products on the market for this.How do i make my nails white?
Soak your nails in squeezed Lemons for about 10 minutes each everyday!
in a week your nails will be as white as a mm.. u figure that out! =]
My friend has beautiful white nails - the only thing different we do from each other is that she drinks tons of milk (i hate milk)

get a manicure and ask for white nail polish.
i had this problem in 6th grade i would paint my nails a diffrent color like every 3 days. and then they turned yellow so i had to tone it down with the painting it was so embarrassing i just painted them over with a clear coat and said it was nail grow but if you can the best thing to do is let them breathe for a bit, the chemcials from acrylic nails arent the best- but soak your nails in some hyrdo peroxide and soapy water and rinse and get a small brush and take some baking soda and kinda scrub at your nails. get a moisturizer and massage the bed of each nail.
Shayla's snaps is absolutely right. This could well be coming from the nail polish itself (especially if you wear dark colours). Hydrogen peroxide will probably help but it doesn't sound very healthy for your nails generally. I don't have this problem but I've heard applying lemon juice works well and also getting an old toothbrush and some whitening toothpaste and giving them a good scrub. Why not try asking the salon that helped you grow your nails? They sound good.
You don't have to stop wearing nail varnish BUT you absolutely must start wearing a clear, protective base coat all the time but especially if you wear dark colours!!
I had this same problem and asked a few days ago in a question and my best answer was to take whitening toothpaste and a soft toothbrush and go over your nails with a light circular motion. Do this a few times a day and they will whiten right up.
If you smoke cigarettes that could be it, I do and my nails get yellow, but usually after a shower they are white again. Try soaking them in some water with a few drops of bleach in it, or even better for your house, use comet or ajax to scrub your sinks/tub out. My hands are so soft and white when I get done. But make sure that you moisturize well after that because the bleach is damaging. I've also noticed that some hand lotions turn my nails color too.
