My dog ripped his back toe nail off. The toe nail is sideways & I can see a white stub where his toe nail was?

My dog ripped his back toe nail off. The toe nail is sticking out of his foot sideways %26amp; pointed up some %26amp; there is a white stump sticking forward where his toe nail was. The vet is closed and he keeps pacing around. What should I do and what will the vet do to fix it? (I don't have a lot of money to spend to get it fixed!)My dog ripped his back toe nail off. first of all if he is an outside dog bring him inside even if he sheds a lot. Keep the wound clean do not put medicine on it just maybe gently rinse it of with a damp towel. Wrap it up in case of bleeding and to keep it clean. If he keeps pacing i would put him in a cage so that he does not walk on it and hurt it even more. When the vet opens up they would probably prescribe pain medicine and give an x-ray to see if there is anything broken. Besides that they cant really do anything except clean it once again and wait for time to heal the wound. My dog ripped his back toe nail off. first off i would like to say that it SHOULD grow back but idk what that white stub is unless its the new one coming in already the vet will probally just tell you to let it grow back and make sure the dog doesnt bite/itch it
First of all, be very careful - this can be painful, and a dog in pain is a dangerous dog. If you can get him to go in a crate without getting near him, do tat. Toss a treat in there, and have him go in for the night.

First thing in the morning, take him to the vet.

They will arrange some way to pay, but this is not something you can fix yourself, and he needs antibiotics. As for the damage to his toe, the vet needs to take a look with a muzzle on the dog, and an experienced vet tech holding him. The vet will tell you whether they need to do anything, or whether they can just give him a local anesthetic and snip it off.

If you attempt tro treat this yourself and it gets infected, it will be a major surgery. Please just have the vet do it properly now.

If you have a muzzle, put it on before putting your dog in the car, and keep him on a leash. But don't mess with the paw yourself, or you will likely get bitten.
honestly you maybe able to manage it at home, but the part that is sticking out needs to come off, it will bleed they make some anti-spetic powder called quick stop (pet stores carry it), apply it and hold for about 15 sec. or until the bleeding stops, then get a piece of gauze apply neosporin on the gauze then some vet wrap, change the bandage every day for usually about 2-3 days.

IF any excessive pain or looks infected take him in. Good luck you may want some help to make sure you don't get bit.
