Nail Problem with white nails with slow growth?

I've had a nail problem for some time now, where my nails grow very slowly or not at all and appear white. I've read that this could have been caused by trauma to the nails, is this right? and if so how do i resolve the problem?Nail Problem with white nails with slow growth?
it can also be calcium deposits. Not harmful. Everyone's nails (and hair) grow at different rates.

EDIT: After hearing your addition, below are some websites with info I found on White Fingernails:

However, most suggest to see a doc for a more conclusive diagnosis as it could be fungus, calcium or zinc deficiency or a more serious problem.Nail Problem with white nails with slow growth?
I have two options for you:

Best option:

Go to Target and look for a product called Hard as Hooves and apply to nails %26amp; cuticles once in morning and right before bed.

second option:

If you don't have time for that, get a nail strengthener polish by Sally Hansen.

Additional tips:

Also, get a good nail buffer and try to lightly buff nails at least 3 times a week. Vitamins are always a good source for nails and as a bonus your body. You should see a noticeable difference in about two weeks.

If your talking about a white spot...I've been told that it's calcium deposits.
