Parts of my white tip nail is brown... is something wrong and how can i prevent this?

i am starting to let my nails grow and i pick on them. even if i stop my nails get this light brow color and i cant get rid of them?Parts of my white tip nail is brown... is something wrong and how can i prevent this?

i think its lack of calcium.
