What's the white thing on ure nail and why won't it go away!?

I've had it for a month now!!What's the white thing on ure nail and why won't it go away!?
My mom used to say that those come from telling a lie! In actuality, it occurs when there is trauma to your nailbed. You are probably thinking ';well, I haven't smashed my finger lately';, and your right. The injury probably occured at least two weeks ago. the white spot doesn't appear until the damaged area grows out, which usually takes about 2 weeks, sometimes longer if you have slow-growing nails. There's isn't much you can do except wait for it to grow out, then cut it off. What's the white thing on ure nail and why won't it go away!?
I used to have a bunch of those white spots with my nails too. This is how it was explained to me. Hope it helps! :)

It isn't ON your nail... it IS your nail. Its a sign that you aren't getting enough calcium... My guess is that you haven't been drinking your milk. ;)

It takes time to become noticable... but it isn't hard to fix and it isn't something super super major to worry about. If you start getting more calcium it should go away.

This happens with teeth too by the way. Sometimes you can see where white teeth seem whiter in some places than in others... same deal.
white spots on the finger nails is a sign of poisoning, but that's not always the case. If you feel sick or anything you might should see a doctor.
I heard it is because you need more calcium....try drinking milk or taking calcium supplements. Remember, women need to take in more calcium than men!!!
Its called the lunula and it is completely normal.
That is what a bruise on your nail looks like. It won't go away, you have to wait for it to grow so you can cut it off.
