Why Are The Tips of Our finger nails white?

Okay okay i know...this question is SERIOUSLY random but i just happen to be painting my fingernails when the question popped into my mind.


so why is it that the tips of our fingernails are white but the rest are basically skin color???Why Are The Tips of Our finger nails white?
Your whole nail is actually white but the skin under it makes it look pinkish. The end shows up white because there is no skin under it.Why Are The Tips of Our finger nails white?

well its clear, so our nails look more tanish, pink becuase of the flesh under them....the tips are clear/white because it has nothing behind it lol..im pretty sure thats why haha
because the tips arent connected to your skin, so its white and not skin color

i don't know, they are made out of hair stuff though, and, the regular part is only pink because of blood,

The tip of ur nails r white because they r they r the part of the nail thats dead. And it goes off of ur skin.
