How do i get nail polish out of white berber carpet?

My two year old got a hold of a bottle of dark pink nail polish and dumped it on my whiteish berber carpet. I instantly grabbed the nail polish remover, but i think it just made it worse. Is my carpet ruined or can i get it out with something else?How do i get nail polish out of white berber carpet?
